Cambaabur - Eid al- Fitr
Food - Cambaabur
This is a Somalian bread that is eaten during Eid al-Fatir. It is a common breakfast during the last days of
Ramadan. This is a full vegetarian meal for the cleanliness of God. It is cooked like a pancake with different
ingredients like onions and chilies and then fried on a pan.
This food is probably the easiest to make so far. Its specialty is that instead of some considerably more common
ingredients you put ingredients like onions. First, you have to add onion, garlic, cumin ( a spice made from
seeds of the Cuminum Cyminum plant ), turmeric ( ginger powder), and some water. Then you add sugar, salt,
flour, and yeast into the mixture. After that, let the mixture stay put until it doubles in size. Finally, Fry it with a
little oil, sugar and repeat until you run out of the mixture, and you’re finished.
